Nursing - ION - Inpatient Obstetrics Nurse Exam Study Guide
The inpatient obstetrics nurse examination is organized and conducted by national certification corporation (NCC). This examination evaluate if the registered nurses have got the required knowledge of biological, physiological, physiological and sociocultural factors. The examination also tests the candidate computation skills and how they address a particular patient on the basis of the available records.
Eligibility for ION - Inpatient Obstetrics Nurse Exam
The applicants must be own a registered nurse license and should have continuous employment in the field of inpatients obstetrics nursing for at least two years with a minimum of 2000 hours.
Format for ION - Inpatient Obstetrics Nurse Exam
The ION exam is taken both in computer based format and conventional paper pen method. The examination as a whole consists of 160 multiple choice questions among which 140 are scored while the rest are pretest questions for future references. The examination questions may cover the issues related to maternal factors affecting the fetus and the newborn, fetal assessment, labor and delivery, obstetric complications, postpartum, new born professional issues etc.
The computer based examination is taken through out the United States but the conventional testing format is operative only at some limited testing centers.
