The certified gastroenterology registered nurse or the CGRN is the exam organized by American board of certification for gastroenterology nurses (ABCGN). Its motive behind establishing these programs is to improve the maintenance and knowledge skills of nurses in the field of gastroenterology.

Eligibility for CGRN - Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse Exam


There are number of requirements for this exam testing that the candidate need to clear before appearing for this exam-

  • The applicant must be a registered nurse.
  • He or she must be working presently in the area of endoscopy or gastroenterology practice.
  • Candidates must be having at least 2 years experience while working in the field of gastroenterology either in clinical education, supervisory or research.

Format for CGRN - Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse Exam


It is a computer based multiple choice question based exam. It contains a set of around 150 questions. This exam is to be covered in time period of three hours. CGRN exam is conducted twice a year. Fees for the SGNA members are structured as $300 and for non-members as $350. Candidates can repeat their exams until and unless they get pass in it. Contents for the preparation of this exam are subjected as following-
