Adult Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist Examination CCNS Test Preparation Study Guide


A clinical nurse specialist (CNS) is a master's degree in nursing certification. CNSs are clinical experts in a specialized area of nursing and in the delivery of evidence-based nursing interventions. CNSs work with other nurses to enhance their nursing practices, improve outcomes, and provide clinical expertise to improve programs of care. The Critical Care Nurse Specialist is a relatively new certification program that enables Clinical Nurse Specialists to care for critically ill patients. This certification shows that the candidate has received additional training and is certified in this field of care for both adult and pediatric patients.

The CCNS exam is broken down into two parts- 78% of the questions pertaining to patients of all ages, while 22% questions pertaining to either adult or pediatric patients.
