The National Council for Therapy Recreation Certification Exam (NCTRC) is developed by the National Council For Therapeutic Recreation Certification ( NCTRC), a non-profit organisation established in 1981. The exam ensures that the candidate has the ability necessary for the entry in this profession.

The exam consists of a base test and upto 6 testlets. The candidates are supposed to complete the base test, consisting of 90 questions , in 86 minutes.
