CRT or certified respiratory therapist exam & RRT or registered respiratory therapist exam is conducted by NBRC (National Board of Respiratory Care). These exams are hold to give accreditation to the candidate for his competent and remarkable skills which he/she possess.CRT is a basic level program which candidate has to give in order to become eligible for becoming RRT. Board gives three year time to the candidate to register themselves as a RRT after completing graduate degree. Once this time period gets expired candidate has to appear again for the CRT followed by RRT.

For appearing in CRT exam candidate should be atleast 18 years of age. Moreover he/she should possess an associate degree in the field of respiratory care and course should be accredited by CoARC. For appearing in RRT exam candidate should possess atleast CRT certification and an associate degree in respiratory care approved by CoARC. Rest candidate must be well skilled and should know the pros and cons of the field. Since this field is challenging and requires technicality, therefore the applicant must be confident to take up this field.

Since CRT is a beginners level exam hence this exam mainly focuses on the respiratory care technicality of the candidate and the knowledge regarding the recent trends of therapy in health sector. Therefore this candidate should prepare for this exam very carefully and should achieve the working experience in the field. CRT exam carries 160 multiple choice questions to check the objective knowledge of the candidate. This exam focuses upon the various topics of clinical science, machines & equipments and therapeutic methodology. The total duration for completion of this exam is 180 minutes.

RRT exam is designed in the manner as such that the candidates knowledge is tested parametrically at every stage and every level. This exam is to test advanced respiratory achievements of the candidate. RRT exam carries two stages a written process and clinical testing process. The written exam consists of 115 multiple type questions. The total duration for completing this exam is 120 minutes. In mock clinical exam, day to day cases are imitated and candidate has to solve it in 4 hours. One can schedule these both parts on the same day itself.
