Format of ABCTE Reading Certificate Exam


This exam conducted by ABCTE is crucial in its own terms. This exam covers various topics from the general English speaking, pronunciations, vocabulary and fluency. More extensively, subjects of real importance are evaluation of reading programs, phonemic awareness and instructions, concept development, informational and literary text, individual differences in reading and writing, phrases, tactics of choral and paired reading, techniques of read aloud, idioms, morphemes (Greek and Latin), suffixes and prefixes etc. These all topics carry unequal weightage, hence the candidate should prepare accordingly. The test contains 125 questions for which the total attempting time is 180 minutes. The questions are multiple choices which look out for the objectivity of the candidate. No grammatical tool is provided to the candidate during the exam. The entire score is converted on the scale of 500. For getting certified as a proficient teacher candidate should score atleast 305 out of 500. There is no distinguished teacher certification for this subject.
