LSAT - Law School Admission Test Study Guide


For getting an admission to any law school under the auspices of the American Bar Association, students are required to take the LSAT or the Law School Admission Test. This LSAT test is used to ensure that the candidates appearing for the Bar exam are proficient with the reading and verbal reasoning skills as these are the pre requisites to be a licensed lawyers.

LSAT Law School Admission Test Format


The LSAT is specifically designed to measure the reading and verbal skills of the candidates and incorporates five sections. The writing exam consists of 25 multiple choice questions and lasts for around 35 minutes.

Logical Reasoning:   This section tests the deductive and inductive skills of the candidate and the candidate is given two paragraphs to evaluate.

Reading Comprehension:   The reading section further includes four sections based on natural science, social sciences, humanities, and law.

Logic Games:   This section features four logic problems, each followed by the multiple-choice questions.

Experimental Section:   This section is un-graded and is used to standardize future tests.

Writing:   This section asks the candidate to read a scenario and adopt an argumentative position. This usually lasts for thirty minutes.
