SSAT - Secondary School Admission Test Study Guide
The secondary school admission test is usually taken by the students in grade 5 to 11. This test is taken to determine their placements at the private junior high schools and the high schools. The SSAT test is categorized into two levels- the lower level for the students in grade 5-7 and the upper level featuring the students in grade 8-11. The Secondary school admission test is usually administered in the United States and Canada .
SSAT - Secondary School Admission Test Format
The SSAT consist of two parts- a brief essay section and a multiple choice section that further includes subjects like mathematics, reading comprehension and verbal.
In the essay section the students are asked to support or argue against a particular topic. The essay section is 25 minutes long. Though the essay section is not scored but still this section is important as it goes to school admission offices.
The maths section has 25 questions and lasts for around thirty minutes. The questions may require basic computations including basic algebra and other quantitative reasoning problems.
The verbal section lasts for half an hour and has thirty synonyms and 30 analogy questions.
The reading section has few comprehension passages that the candidates are required to read and answer the following questions. In total there are 40 questions and this section also lasts for around 40 minutes.
