Louisiana End-of-Course Assessments
The public schools of the state of Louisiana administer yearly standardized assessments to students of all grades. One of these assessments is the EOC or Louisiana End-Of-Course Assessment. EOCs are meant to calibrate the expertise a high school student carries from a class after its completion. These exams were first proposed by the Louisiana Department of Education's High School Redesign Commission during 2007 - 2008, and are still ongoing.
All around the USA today, they are used for giving an estimate of the comprehension and familiarity of a student to a certain content topic. Different Boards of Education all around the USA largely administer these tests in their public schools.

The EOC assessments have been conducted during two terms: December and May. Students take the test after finishing their specified course. So far, the categories of the assessment were: Algebra, Geometry, English language, Biology, and American History. During 2011. This test was a high stake for freshmen since it required them to pass three different courses of the exam. Passing the exam meant scoring fair or above, and that took the young adults closer to earning their high school diploma.
Today, in 2021., the EOC tests are still operating with only one goal, and that is to fulfill the state's public school graduation requirements. The topics offered today are exclusively English language and Biology.
