GACE History Exam Study Guide

To check this efficiency of the candidate, Georgia Professional Standards Commission conducts GACE History Exam. Candidate cracking GACE History Exam gets the certification to teach in Georgia State as a History Educator.

GACE History Exam includes two sub tests. Candidate needs to clear both the sub tests to get the certification. If the candidate falls short of the marks in any of the sub tests, then he is liable to appear again for the exam after the gap of 30 days.

Eligibility for GACE History Exam


To appear for GACE History Exam, candidate should meet all the eligibility conditions issued by the board. Candidate should possess bachelor degree and certification from the state approved college to get the renewable certification. Those candidates who are not having certification from any board can apply for the non renewable certification. However they should be enrolled in any certificate program run by state approved college at the time of filing application.

Format of GACE History Exam


GACE History Exam includes objective and subjective questions which should be practiced hard to crack the Exam.

Sub test I

  • Historical concepts 16 objective questions
  • World history 22 objective questions and one subjective question
  • World history (present) 22 objective questions and one subjective question

Sub test II

  • US history 22 objective and 1 subjective question
  • US history (present) 22 objective and 1 subjective question
  • History of Georgia 16 objective questions

Scoring of GACE History Exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks. 80% weightage is given to objective section and 20% to constructed response queries.
