TCOLE Exam Study Guide
The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (Commission) issues licenses to peace officers, district prison guards, telecommunicators and an endorsement to investigative subliminal specialists. For every situation, a candidate must meet certain preparation and examination benchmarks preceding authorizing. The authorizing examination takes after required preparing or its equal, and each is an autonomous permitting necessity.
Eligibility for the TCOLE Exam
To be qualified to sit for an examination, an examinee must,
(1) convey to the examination site, and show upon solicitation, recognizable proof issued by the state or government with the examinee's photo;
(2) know their right TCOLE PID
(3) report on time;
(4) not disturb the examination; and
(5) agree to the greater part of the composed and verbal guidelines of the delegate.
Photograph distinguishing proof might be:
(1) legitimate driver's permit (favored);
(2) law implementation office distinguishing proof with photograph; or
(3) United States government provided photograph ID.
Format of the TCOLE Exam
Examination time point of confinement and number of inquiries:
Peace Officer 250 inquiries 3 hour time limit (180 minutes)
Essential Jailer 100 inquiries 1.45 hour time limit (105 minutes)
Entrancing 100 inquiries 1.5 hour time limit (a hour and a half)
Cop to Jailer 100 inquiries 1.5 hour time limit (a hour and a half)
Telecommunicators 50 questions 1 hour time limit (a hour)
