Safety Trained Supervisor Exam

Safety-trained supervisor (STS) is designed for the leaders at all levels of an organization. This is because all the employees have responsibilities to play in bringing about a safe work environment.

The certification is specifically aimed at executives, directors, managers, supervisors, superintendents, and employees. Even though the individuals might not be having safety as a primary duty, their knowledge of safety and their competency cements the foundation of safety within the organization. The STS exam sets a standard baseline for knowledge across the organization.

Eligibility for the STS Exam

All people applying for the STSC assessment probably finished 30 hours of formal wellbeing and well-being preparing either a solitary course or different instructional classes. The training must include safety and health courses, conferences, or internal company training.

STSC candidates must have either

Two years of training experience
Four years of working experience related to construction.
An associate degree or higher in occupational safety, risk management, or
Completion of a two-year trade or union training program/apprenticeship.

STSC exam involves fees which are as follows:

Individual exam fee:$185
Exam bundle fee (optional): $325
The exam bundle includes an exam authorization, an online exam self-assessment, and the second attempt in case the first one is unsuccessful.

Renewal fee:$70

Syllabus for the STS Exam

STSC’s must remain up-to-date with changes in professional practice by earning and submitting three points (3) (30 hours) of safety and health courses or earning the STS, CIT, CHST, OHST, ASP, SMS, or CSP, every five (5) years.

Format of the STS Exam

The STSC exam contains 100 multiple-choice questions. Two hours are given to complete the STSC examination. Examinations are closed books and the access of external reference materials during the examination is not permitted. The examination center will provide you with materials to use for working calculations by hand.
