Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.) Test Preparation Study Guide
The LARE tests if a candidate has the knowledge and skill that is required to become a certified landscape architect. The exam is developed by the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB).
Format Of The The Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.):
The LARE exam is divided into following 5 sections:
Section A - Project and Construction Administration
This section consists of 70 multiple-choice based on the following content areas:

Section B - Inventory, Analysis and Program Development
This section consists of 90 multiple-choice based on the following content areas:

Section C - Site Design
This section includes 4 graphic vignette problems that test a candidates ability to design and evaluate site designs.
Section D - Design and Construction Documentation
This section consists of 120 multiple-choice based on the following content areas:

Resource Conservation and Management
Graphic Communication
Construction Documentation
Materials and Methods of Construction
Section E - Grading, Drainage and Storm water Management
This section includes 4 graphic vignette problems that test a candidates ability to complete grading, drainage and storm water management plans.
