GACE English Exam Study Guide
English is today the most widely spoken language in the world. The Educator teaching English to the students should be thorough with the concepts and conceptual importance of the subject. To check this competency of the educator, GPSC (Georgia Professional Standards Commission) conducts assessment. Candidates clearing this assessment get the certification from the board to practice as an educator in the Georgia State. Candidate needs to take two sub tests under GACE English Exam to get certified as English Educator.
Eligibility for GACE English Exam
To appear for GACE English Exam, candidate should satisfy all the conditions listed by the board. For renewable certification candidate needs to hold the bachelor degree and certification from the state approved college. In case the candidate does not have a bachelor degree however he has applied for it, then also he is eligible to apply for non - renewable certification.
Format of GACE English Exam
GACE English Exam is composed of two subtests. Sub test 1 includes topics like informational and literary text and strategies and skills of reading. The former topic makes 38 objective questions and one subjective query whereas the latter one forms 22 objective questions and one subjective query. Sub test 2 includes topics like writing pieces and conversations, writing for different reasons and purposes and communication through oral and visual means. These all topics form 20, 27 and 13 objective questions respectively. Sub test 2 also comprises of 2 constructive responses. Scoring of GACE English Exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification. Candidate can appear in the exam after 30 days if he/she is not satisfied with his/her performance in the earlier attempt.
